Heart disease is the NUMBER 1 KILLER of men and women in the United States. Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death associated with high blood pressure. Every year one in four deaths is caused by heart disease. It’s common knowledge that maintaining a healthy diet and exercising are key factors in preventing heart disease, but did you know that chiropractic treatment is also an effective means to fight heart disease?
The journal of manipulative and physiological therapies found that systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly in patients given chiropractic adjustments, whereas no significant changes occurred in the placebo and control conditions.
Another study found that a chiropractic adjustment can significantly lower high blood pressure, "This procedure has the effect of not one, but two blood-pressure medications given in combination," study leader George Bakris, MD says. Compared to the sham-treated patients, those who got the real procedure saw an average 14 mm Hg greater drop in systolic blood pressure (the top number in a blood pressure count), and an average 8 mm Hg greater drop in diastolic blood pressure (the bottom blood pressure number).
Mahatma Gandhi had been suffering from blood pressure problems for a few years prior to getting his first adjustment in 1942. After that experience, he paid the Chiropractor to come live with him for three months. His frequent adjustments over that 90 day period helped him overcome his blood pressure problems!
